Thanks for the correction.

True, and it may be simply due to me do not liking the phrase 'make a difference' and that I kinda am old school about things, but I do wish obedience is called out a little more explicitly. Perhaps it may be simply that people these days do not like the word: obey, and want to keep that more implicit in the message.

No you can't... help but criticize things. :P
But in all seriousness, (it's called Advent Conspiracy) while doing good works can be about ourselves, when it's done with the reminder of how God has always reminded us that we need to take care of the poor, aliens, fatherless, and the widows, it is in essence, simple act of obedience.

Mike, I am not saying that we should (or should not) keep quiet about things that may offend ourselves, our family or our ethnicity. How you react to such things is up to you. I am hoping that if someone or some thing says or does something offensive that you deal with that person or thing in a Christ like manner.

What I am saying is that it is petty and childish to designate what was said with the title of the book (and the presentation - again something that I am almost 100 positive was done without any inkling of trying to offend any ethnicity) as an injustice. That, to me, is on an entirely different level than being offensive - even being purposefully offensive. Heck, injustice was the reason why God leveled Sodom and Gomorrah.

The other big thing that I have something against was this idea that people (whoever 'the people' or 'they' are) consider Asians some model minority since we are 'silent'.

i don't. sure there are bigger things to get worked up over, but addressing an issue of ignorance regarding asians (like this book) doesn't make one childish or petty.

It's definitely a great memory to reflect on the 40th anniv... but like you said, I hope it doesn't become true that nothing will happen for next several decades... :(

Thing is the real suicide rate may be a little higher.

Korea has this 'fan death' thing and my brother thinks (and I agree with him) that it is a convenient way for a family to save face when someone in it commits suicide.
